Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson has dismissed any chance of Chelsea catching the Reds in the Premier League's top four, despite Jurgen Klopp's men dropping points away at West Brom.

Klopp's side went 2-0 up at the Hawthorns, but were pegged back by the hosts and took a point back to Merseyside with the final whistle blowing on a 2-2 draw.

Liverpool, who sit third, are eight points ahead of fifth placed Chelsea, though the Blues do have a game in hand. The Reds also still have to go to Stamford Bridge before the end of the season.

Chelsea are hoping to reel in either Tottenham or Liverpool to finish in the top four, but Lawrenson does not feel the Reds need to worry.

"I don't think Chelsea are anywhere near catching us", Lawrenson said on LFC TV.

"Chelsea might be in the cup final as well.

"That's another thing, so I think we're there", he added.

Liverpool now switch their attention to the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie against Roma at Anfield.

The Reds' remaining Premier League games are Stoke City (home), Chelsea (away) and Brighton (home).
