Tim Sherwood says that Toby Alderweireld is the best centre-back at Tottenham Hotspur and Mauricio Pochettino should be picking the Belgian in his team.
Pochettino has left Alderweireld on the bench for Tottenham's FA Cup semi-final tie against Manchester United on Saturday evening, continuing a trend of overlooking the player.
With Tottenham and Alderweireld unable to reach an agreement on a new contract, Pochettino has restricted the defender's game time and regularly fields Jan Vertonghen and Davinson Sanchez as his central pairing.
Sherwood thinks that Alderweireld is Spurs' best defender and also dubbed Sanchez a mistake waiting to happen.
He said, reacting to the FA Cup team selection from Spurs, on BT Sport Score: "Toby Alderweireld is without a doubt the best defender they have got.

"Davinson is a mistake waiting to happen.
"If Toby is going to leave at the end of the season then use him while you can."
Alderweireld has been linked with a number of clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, including Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
It remains to be seen how much game time Pochettino will hand the Belgium international before the campaign draws to a close.
