Paris Saint-Germain are considering roping in Arsene Wenger as technical director to oversee the club’s academy and the professional group.

Arsenal announced on Friday morning that Wenger will be stepping down as manager at the end of the season, ending his 22-year stint with the Gunners.

Wenger’s statement did not make it clear whether he will be retiring from football management and there are suggestions that he could still be in the dugout of another club in the summer.

PSG have tried and failed to convince Wenger to become their coach in the past and according to French daily Le Parisien the club are keen to exploit the window of opportunity to rope in the Frenchman this time around.

While the Parisians are closing in on appointing Thomas Tuchel as the replacement for Unai Emery, who is expected to be sacked at the end of the season, the Parisians have a role in mind for Wenger.

It has been claimed that some in the PSG hierarchy are already thinking about bringing in Wenger in the role of a technical director, who will be in the charge of the club’s academy.

PSG are appreciative of the Frenchman’s eye for young talent and believe their academy can reach new heights under Wenger.

However, the club are yet to approach the Frenchman and the man himself is yet to make any decision over his future, but he is not keen to walk away from football completely.
