Mark Lawrenson thinks that Liverpool were always going to concede against West Brom with centre-back Ragnar Klavan and left-back Alberto Moreno putting in weak displays at the Hawthorns.

Liverpool held a 2-0 lead in the Premier League fixture heading into the final 12 minutes, but goals conceded in the 79th and 88th minute, the latter scored by Salomon Rondon, ensured it ended a draw.

Jurgen Klopp has seen his defence become significantly tighter in recent months, but defensive weakness resurfaced against the Baggies.

And for Lawrenson, Liverpool were always going to concede with Klavan and Moreno struggling.

"Klavan got completely bullied by Rondon", Lawrenson said on LFC TV.

"The left-back was nowhere to be seen on a regular basis.

"When you have that kind of weakness in your defence you're always likely to concede", he added.

Liverpool have conceded 37 goals in their 35 league games so far this season, the highest amongst the clubs in the top five.

Klopp is expected to restore left-back Andrew Robertson and centre-back Dejan Lovren to the side when Roma visit Anfield this coming Tuesday evening for the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie.
