Nothing Leeds United's players can do in their final two games of the season, against Norwich City and QPR, will change Paul Heckingbottom's view of them, former White Noel Whelan believes.

Heckingbottom has suffered a torrid time since taking charge of Leeds in February, with the club's top six hopes quickly dying out as the new manager bounce effect failed to materialise.

Leeds, who beat Barnsley 2-1 at Elland Road on Saturday, can now finish no higher than 12th in the Championship, meaning the players are very much playing simply for pride and to impress Heckingbottom ahead of the summer transfer window.

But Whelan does not think any player can change Heckingbottom's view over the course of games against Norwich City and QPR, with the Leeds boss having already made up his mind.

The former White said on BBC Radio Leeds, when asked if players can change Heckingbottom's mind: "No, I think the manager has already made his mind up on the players and those ones he wants to keep and wants to go.

Leeds could have to accept heavy losses to move on a number of players this summer as owner Andrea Radrizzani handed out long-term contracts to new arrivals last summer.
