Aaron Ramsey admits that winning the Europa League would be the perfect send-off for departing Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, as thoughts turn to Europe following a 4-1 win over West Ham United.

Arsenal went ahead in the 51st minute in the Premier League fixture at the Emirates Stadium through Nacho Monreal, who volleyed into the back of the net from a corner.

West Ham hit back 13 minutes later through Marko Arnautovic, whose neat shot beat David Ospina in the Gunners goal.

But as the clock ticked down Arsenal upped the pressure and Ramsey made it 2-1 in the 82nd minute, before a brace from Alexandre Lacazette (85th and 89th minutes) gave the scoreline a comfortable look.

The match was the first since Wenger announced he is to leave Arsenal at the end of the season and Ramsey admits the news has been tough for the players to take in.

He told Sky Sports: "It's really tough to take by the group of lads. He's believed in us and given us all these opportunities over the years.

"He brought me here as a 17-year-old, I owe him a lot.

"He deserves all the plaudits he gets. Hopefully we can finish off the season on a high."

And Ramsey insists that Arsenal are not thinking about who comes next and are instead focused on making sure they win the Europa League, which he feels would send Wenger off in the right way.

"We're not thinking about who's coming in next; it's about doing it for him.

"Winning the Europa League would be a perfect send-off for him", he said.

Arsenal have been drawn to face Atletico Madrid in the semi-final of the Europa League.
