Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson believes that the atmosphere at Anfield will be "unbelievable" on Tuesday night when the Reds play Roma, but warned it will likely be similar in the second leg in Italy.

Having reached the semi-finals of the Champions League by virtue of a win against Manchester City, the Reds are now scheduled to take on the Italian giants in a two-legged tie starting on Tuesday.

While the 27-year-old took time to praise the atmosphere at Anfield, which he believes is a source of inspiration for the players, the midfielder is also wary of the threat Roma are going to pose while playing at their own home.

"The atmosphere at Anfield is unbelievable and it really lifts us on the big occasions but the performance on the pitch needs to match it", Henderson said at a press conference.

"It will be the same for them in Rome and I'm sure it will be a tough place to go."

On what it means for the players to feature in the semi-final of the Champions League, the England international added that it is something every player dreams about.

However, the former Sunderland man also took time to stress the need to compliment their appearance in the Champions League with a win.

"Playing in a semi-final of the Champions League is a huge occasion for all of the players. It's what you dream about.

"It will be a huge night but the focus is on what's important and that is doing the job to the best of your ability.

"When you look back you want to look back for the right reasons and make sure you have done your job for the team and got the right result."
