Tottenham Hotspur custodian Michel Vorm believes that he has done "alright" in the FA Cup, but says it is a shame that the journey came to an abrupt end in the semi-final.

The 34-year-old has been the preferred choice between the sticks for manager Mauricio Pochettino in the FA Cup, featuring in a total of seven games, including the semi-final against Manchester United on Saturday.

Vorm though conceded two goals in Spurs' 2-1 loss to Manchester United, failing to prevent his side from going out and thus ending their hopes of clinching silverware this season.

The Dutch international is happy with his own overall performance though, insisting that he has been working hard every day to make sure that he remains ready for such semi-final fixtures.

“I played through the tournament and I think I’ve done alright”, the goalkeeper told his club's official website.

“I train hard every day and if I get the chance to play a semi-final like this that gives me the confidence but it’s also something I think I deserve in the way I act as a professional and as a team-mate and a person.

"I enjoyed every moment and it’s a shame it’s come to an end.”

The loss on Saturday means that Tottenham's wait for silverware continues, though Vorm insists that he is 100 per cent sure a day will soon come when they start winning regularly.

“It sounds like a cliche but we need to learn from this and keep going again and again and again and I am 100 per cent sure our time will come.

“We deserve it, our fans deserve it. We will learn from it.

"At the moment it’s tough to understand but in the long run we need to keep going and stay positive.”
