Napoli are considering a summer swoop for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, who has also been on the radar of Arsenal.

The 23-year-old defender has made 18 starts in the league this season for Juventus, but is yet to become one of the first names on Massimiliano Allegri’s team-sheet.

Rugani is frustrated at not being able to play week in week out and it has been claimed the centre-back is prepared to leave Juventus in the summer to satiate his desire to play regularly.

Arsenal have been keeping tabs on the Italian defender for some time and there are suggestions the club could be interested if Rugani becomes available in the summer.

However, the Gunners are set to face competition from Napoli, as according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A giants are considering snaring him away from Juventus.

Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri is keen to get his hands on Rugani, who started his career under him at Empoli.

Juventus remain unwilling to lose the defender who has a contract until 2021 with the club.
