Arsenal and Liverpool midfield target Max Meyer has emerged as an option for Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the summer transfer window.

PSG are expected to sack Unai Emery at the end of the season and have reportedly agreed a deal to appoint former Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel as their new manager.

Tuchel has already been working with the PSG hierarchy to identify targets for the club for the summer and the German is keen to strengthen the middle of the park in the transfer window.

A number of midfielders are on PSG’s shortlist, including Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl and according to French daily Le Parisien, Schalke’s Meyer is also on the French giants’ radar.

The German is out of contract in the summer and he is unlikely to sign a new deal with Schalke expecting him to leave the club on a free transfer.

His status as a free agent makes him an attractive option for PSG, who are expected to curb their spending in the summer due to Financial Fair Play regulations.

However, PSG are expected to face competition for Meyer’s signature from across the English Channel as clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are also believed to be keen on him.
