Leeds United loanee Marcus Antonsson has delighted at helping Blackburn Rovers book an instant return to the Championship.

The Swedish striker was frozen out of the Whites' first team plans last summer and sent on loan to Blackburn for the season.

Antonsson has found his scoring boots and played regularly at Ewood Park, helping Blackburn to win promotion from League One under Tony Mowbray.

Following Rovers' 1-0 win away at Doncaster on Tuesday night, promotion has been secured and Antonsson took to social media to post a photograph of dressing room celebrations.

He wrote: "WE DID IT.

"So proud of this team!

"Such a great feeling to wake up and realise that we are PROMOTED.

"The support from the fans yesterday was absolutely amazing!"

Antonsson is due to return to Leeds at the end of his loan, but it is unclear if he could feature in the Whites' post-season tour to Burma in May.

The jury is also still out on Antonsson's future at Elland Road, but the Whites do have a new head coach, with Paul Heckingbottom yet to work with the Swede.
