Burnley have confirmed that Rangers target Scott Arfield is to leave the club in the summer.

Arfield is out of contract at Turf Moor in the summer and had been offered fresh terms by Burnley to continue at the club.

But the midfielder is set on a new adventure and Burnley have now confirmed that Arfield will leave when his current contract expires in the summer.

Scottish giants Rangers are keen on Arfield and have been holding talks with his representatives in a bid to take the Canada international to Ibrox.

However, Arfield is also attracting interest from elsewhere, with the MLS an option for the former Falkirk man.

Burnley also confirmed that Dean Marney is to also leave when his deal expired and boss Sean Dyche has been quick to pay tribute to the pair.

"We have to allow these lads the right and the chance to align their futures and honour the fact they’ve been fantastic servants to us, as well", Dyche told the club's official site.

"They have been a massive part of what we’ve done here and fantastic servants of Burnley Football Club."

Arfield, 29, has made 18 appearances for Burnley in the Premier League in the current campaign.
