Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi has stressed that the club are happy to allow Liverpool use their training facilities ahead of the Reds' clash against Roma on Wednesday evening.

With a 5-2 win in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie, Liverpool are massive favourites to get the job done in the Italian capital on Wednesday night and reach the final.

Roma have already produced a shock result against Barcelona in the quarter-finals but not many are expecting them to repeat the trick against the Reds, who are confident of scoring at the Stadio Olimpico.

Jurgen Klopp is keen to see his team get the right preparation and Liverpool will be using Lazio’s training facilities to prepare ahead of the Roma game in midweek.

And Inzaghi admits that Lazio are glad to provide all the help Liverpool need to beat their eternal local rivals Roma in the Champions League.

The Lazio coach is hopeful that Liverpool will return the favour if Lazio ever face Everton in Europe in the future.

Inzaghi said in a press conference: “I think it’s an honour for us to host a team such as Liverpool.

“The day after the draw Liverpool made a request and we gladly accepted it. We hope in the future they can do it for us.

“It will mean we will be playing in Europe, perhaps in Liverpool against Everton and if that happens, they will welcome us like we have accepted them.”

Lazio and Roma share one of the most heated rivalries in European football and on derby days Rome is always on tenterhooks.
