Departing Liverpool star Emre Can has demanded a release clause in his contract at Juventus.

The Italian champions have been chasing the Reds midfielder for much of the season after it became increasingly clear he was holding off signing a contract extension at Anfield.

Can is tipped to leave Liverpool when his deal expires in the summer and Juventus have been working overtime to convince him to move to Turin.

Now, according to Turin-based Italian daily Tuttosport, Can has given Juventus the green light and agreed to join Juventus.

However, he has imposed a no-negotiable condition on the move – he must have a release clause in his contract.

Can is keen to make sure that he remains in the driving seat when it comes to having options to decide his future and a release clause would mean a move, potentially back to the Premier League, would not be off the table.

Juventus have long had Can earmarked as a priority target for the summer.
