West Ham boss David Moyes admits that it is always hard to beat a side like Manchester City, but he hopes that the next time he manages against Pep Guardiola's men he will try something different to beat them.

The Citizens continued with their good form against the Hammers, scoring four and in the process crossing the 100 goal mark in the Premier League this season in the 4-1 win.

The former Manchester United manager revealed that it is difficult to play against a team of Manchester City's calibre because the moment he as the manager tries to make a change in the team's formation, the Sky Blues will adapt immediately and play accordingly.

And therefore the Scot feels that a certain level of quality is needed if a team are to stop the champions, which has been incredibly difficult this season.

“I think everyone is in appreciation of what Manchester City can do. I wanted to challenge them and do better than we did, so I’m disappointed overall that we didn’t do better", the manager told his club's official website.

"The next time I manage against them I’ll try and do something different to stop them, but it’s very hard.

"They were very good. Because of the way they play, the minute you try to effect something, they'll change.

"Everybody will have a go at trying to beat them, but you have to have a level of quality in your team.

"Some teams will find a way of doing it, but it's been hard for just about every team in the Premier League and that's why they're runaway leaders this season."

The Hammers are currently three points ahead of the relegation zone with the manager insisting that at least wins in their last two home games will be important to secure their Premier League status.
