Rangers have released another photograph of Steven Gerrard after the Liverpool legend took charge at Ibrox on a four-year deal, with the man in question admitting he is buzzing.

The former Liverpool and England captain will assume his position at Rangers on 1st June as he looks to guide the club back to their former glories.

Gerrard told Rangers TV: "I'm very pleased, I'm buzzing inside. I can't wait to get started on 1st June.

"It's a huge, huge honour for me to be sat here now to be the manager of Rangers.

"The excitement levels are very difficult to contain at the moment", he added.

Gerrard's only managerial experience so far is as boss of Liverpool's Under-18s side, but Rangers have shown their faith in him by handing him a deal running until the summer of 2022.

He is expected to be joined at Ibrox by former Liverpool and Leeds United star Gary McAllister, who is tipped to become his number two.

Hopes are also high amongst the Rangers faithful that Gerrard will be given the funds needed to reshape the squad over the summer to go into battle against Celtic next season.
