Former Liverpool defender Phil Babb has admitted his big worry in the Champions League final is that Real Madrid's star players always turn up when it matters.

Liverpool edged out Roma 7-6 on aggregate in their Champions League semi-final tie, while Real Madrid put Bayern Munich out of the competition.

Babb feels Real Madrid were lucky to get the better of Bayern Munich and are also a team full of ageing legs which should play to Liverpool's strengths.

However, the ex-Republic of Ireland international is concerned that Real Madrid's big players, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, always turn up when it matters the most.

"This is my concern about Real Madrid, they turn up in finals", Babb said on LFC TV.

"They got lucky to get past Bayern Munich, but they all turned up.

"The big players turn up, Ronaldo, he relishes any opportunity to get his top off.

"But they are an ageing side and we have the energy and the legs to put them under pressure.

"We have the tools to win the final."

Liverpool still have work to do in the Premier League to lock down a top four spot and take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, where a point would effectively secure Champions League football for next season.

The Reds could also qualify for next season's Champions League by beating Real Madrid in the final in Kyiv later this month.
