Following Steven Gerrard confirming that Gary McAllister will be his number two at Rangers, it has been revealed Liverpool academy coach Michael Beale will also be heading to Ibrox.

Gerrard has put pen to paper to a four-year deal at Rangers and will officially take up his position from 1st June.

He is already shaping his backroom team and former Liverpool midfielder and current club ambassador McAllister will work as Gerrard's assistant.

And another Liverpool dimension is to be added with Beale to join the backroom staff at Ibrox.

Beale rose to become the boss of Liverpool's Under-23 team, but quit to take up a position on the coaching staff at Brazilian giants Sao Paulo in late 2016.

However, Beale returned to a role at Liverpool's academy nine months later.

It remains to be seen who else Gerrard will add to his backroom staff at Rangers and which, if any, of the current members of the Gers coaching staff he chooses to keep on.
