Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton is excited to see Steven Gerrard look to pit his wits against his former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers next season in his new role as Rangers boss.

Gerrard has agreed a four-year deal with Rangers to become their new manager and he will be unveiled later this afternoon in a press conference at Ibrox.

With only a season of coaching experience under his belt with Liverpool Under-18s, many believe Gerrard is taking a risk by choosing to go to the hotbed of Scottish football.

However, Sutton has lauded Gerrard’s courage to take up the Rangers job and believes it will bring eyes to Scottish football next season.

The former Bhoy is also waiting for the inevitable clash of Gerrard and his former manager Rodgers, who is eyeing a second consecutive domestic treble with Celtic this term.
