Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta admits that the club would like to have players of the calibre of Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata in their squad.

Morata’s future at Chelsea is under the scanner ahead of the summer transfer window with suggestions that the striker is prepared to leave the club after just one season.

The Spaniard has been linked with a return to Juventus in the upcoming window and the Italian champions are reportedly preparing a bid for the striker as they look to take him back to Turin.

However, Marotta remained coy over Juventus’ interest in Morata and refused to add anything to the speculation surrounding the Italian champions’ willingness to re-sign the striker.

But he did concede the Bianconeri are interested in signing players of Morata’s quality in the upcoming window.

Marotta told Premium Sport when asked about Juventus’ interest in Morata: “There are many rumours, he is not the only one.

“For the moment, he is a Chelsea player and there is nothing else to add.

“We want to have players of his level in the squad.”

Morata has scored 15 goals this season, but has been left frustrated by Antonio Conte’s decision to continue to drop him for Chelsea’s big games.
