Leeds United have vowed to put any funds received from outside investment into the transfer kitty for the summer window.

It has been claimed the Whites are close to receiving an injection of investment, with owner Andrea Radrizzani tipped to sell a ten per cent stake in the club after a £9m club loan was turned into shares.

There has been doubt over whether the money received would go into the transfer pot, but now a spokesperson for Leeds has confirmed that it will.

The Leeds representative has insisted that all money which is generated over the summer will be put into the transfer kitty to allow for squad strengthening.

"Any funds generated this summer – from season ticket sales, retail sales and any form of investment would go directly into the transfer fund to allow us to be competitive next season", the Leeds spokesperson told BBC Radio Leeds.

The news will be welcomed by Leeds fans, who are keen for the club to spend significantly in the summer transfer window in order to bankroll a promotion bid from the Championship.

Leeds finished seventh the season before Radrizzani took full control, but slumped to just 13th this term, despite the top six being their aim.
