Rangers striker Jason Cummings has indicated that he is confident about staying at Ibrox beyond the end of the season.

Cummings joined Rangers on loan from Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window and the club have an option to sign him on a permanent transfer.

They have already pre-negotiated agreement with Forest over the figure of the transfer fee, but there are suggestions Rangers could look to get the price down before they sign him on a permanent deal.

However, there are clear indications Nottingham Forest might not want to play ball if Rangers look to negotiate the price down for Cummings at the end of the season.

The player himself has enjoyed his stint at Rangers and is confident about staying at Ibrox next season as he believes his story has only started with the Glasgow giants.

He is hopeful Rangers and Nottingham Forest will sit down and thrash out the terms so that he can continue with the Gers.

The striker said in a press conference: “This has been the best experience I have had playing for such a big club as Rangers.

“It has been frustrating at times with game time, I was hoping to get a few more starts but I'm focused on the future and I think this is just the beginning for me at Rangers.

“It's up to Rangers and Forest to come to an agreement, I hope it happens but I'm not involved in that side of matters.”

The 22-year-old has netted six goals in 17 appearances for Rangers since joining the club.
