Bayern Munich are considering making a move for Newcastle United loan star Kenedy in the summer transfer window, scuppering Rafael Benitez's plans to keep him in the north east.

With Juan Bernat expected to leave the Bavarians in the summer, the German champions are looking to get in a replacement in the upcoming transfer window.

And their gaze has landed on the shores of England as it has been claimed that Bayern Munich are considering signing a Chelsea loanee in the summer transfer window.

According to German magazine Kicker, Kenedy’s performances at Newcastle have caught the attention of the Bavarians and his name is on the shortlist of their targets for the upcoming window.

Struggling to get any sort of game time at Chelsea, Kenedy has been a key feature of Newcastle escaping relegation since he joined the club on loan in the January window.

Benitez has already revealed that Newcastle will approach Chelsea and look to agree a deal to keep him at the club for next season as well.

But it seems the Magpies are set to face some stiff competition from one of the heavyweights of European football in Bayern Munich for Kenedy’s signature.

Bernat has been second choice at Bayern Munich this season and it also remains to be seen whether Kenedy will look to move to Germany and risk sitting on the bench again or consider staying in the north east to benefit from playing regularly at St. James’ Park.
