Roma have lodged an enquiry for Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin as a replacement for Liverpool linked Alisson, but they still want to hold on to the Brazilian.

Alisson’s future at Roma has been under the scanner for several months, with suggestions that some of the big wigs of European football are circling around the Roma goalkeeper.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have him on their radar as both are expected to look for a new number one in the summer and he has even been linked with a move to Liverpool.

Roma are aware of the level of interest in Alisson, but have made it clear that they don’t want to sell the goalkeeper in the upcoming summer transfer window.

However, they are aware that they would find it difficult to reject big money offer should one land on their doorstep and the club are now putting contingency plans in place.

And according to Sky Italia, Roma have identified Genoa's Perin as a potential successor to Alisson and have made an initial move for the Italian.

It has been claimed that while no official offer has been made, Roma have launched an unofficial enquiry to see whether Perin would consider leaving Genoa this summer.

A highly regarded goalkeeper in Italy, the 25-year-old has been regularly linked with a move to big clubs, but Genoa have so far managed to keep hold of him.

He has a contract until the end of next season.
