Celtic loanee Odsonne Edouard has lavished praise on Brendan Rodgers and believes he has taken vast strides as a footballer under the Hoops manager.

Edouard joined Celtic from Paris Saint-Germain last summer on a season-long loan deal and after an initial bedding in period, he has grown into a key player in the Bhoys squad.

The striker feels his stint with the Scottish champions has been a huge learning curve for him as a footballer and as a human being and he is especially thankful towards Rodgers.

Edouard believes the Celtic manager has played a pivotal role in helping him improve as a footballer and it is testament to his ability to work and develop young players.

The Frenchman feels under Rodgers he is nothing like the player he was when he joined Celtic last summer and there have been remarkable improvements in his game.

Edouard said in an interview with French sports daily L’Equipe: “Already as a man, I have evolved as I had to fend for myself.

“In football, I have evolved physically, tactically and technically. Coach Rodgers knows how to work with young people.

“Between the Odsonne of ten months ago and today, there is a real difference.

“I am more aggressive and demanding. At the start Rodgers told me, ‘Trust me, I improved [Luis] Suarez’.

“With my back to the goal and in pressing, he has made me another player.”

Edouard has netted nine goals in 22 league appearances for Celtic this season.
