Odsonne Edouard has revealed his desire to continue at Celtic next season and develop further under the tutelage of Brendan Rodgers.

Celtic signed the Frenchman on a season-long loan deal last summer and the youngster has gradually grown in stature at Parkhead after an initial bedding in period.

Edouard has a contract until 2020 with PSG and is scheduled to return to France at the end of the season, but the striker admits that he wants to continue with the Scottish champions.

He believes it would be the best option for his development if PSG agree to let him stay at Celtic next season as he believes the club and Rodgers can aid his development and take his game to the next level.

Asked about his future, Edouard told French sports daily L’Equipe: “I am happy at the club, with the team and the coach as he has given me a lot of confidence.

“The goal would be to stay here as for me that would be the best option.

“They are a top club with a top coach, who will help me move on to the next level.

“Next season it would be a great honour to wear the Hoops jersey. I want to show my value.”

Edouard has scored nine goals in 22 appearances for Celtic this season in the league, including a brace against Rangers in a recent 5-0 win at Parkhead.
