Arsene Wenger is certain that his successor at Arsenal will have a bright future as he believes the current squad are just a few additions away from competing for the Premier League title.

Wenger finished his time at Arsenal with a 1-0 win at Huddersfield Town and ended an unenviable run of away defeats in the league in the current calendar year.

Arsenal have finished the season in sixth on 63 points, the lowest haul in the Wenger era, and will again be plying their trade in the Europa League next term, but Wenger is confident the future is bright for his successor.

The outgoing Arsenal manager insisted that he is leaving behind a quality squad of players and a few good additions to the squad will turn them into a side who are good enough to compete for the Premier League title.

He was quoted as saying by the BBC when asked about the future of his successor: "I see a bright future for my successor because the team has a good attitude and quality.
