FC Utrecht have snapped up midfielder Joris van Overeem in a clear sign that they do not expect Leeds United's Mateusz Klich to return for next season.

The Dutch Eredivisie club signed Klich from Leeds on a loan deal in the January transfer window, with the Pole having fallen out of favour at Elland Road.

Klich has impressed during his time at the club, but he is due to return to Leeds following Utrecht's final two games of the season; they are due to play Vitesse over two legs for a place in next season's Europa League.

But the Pole has already confirmed he is 99 per cent sure to go back to Leeds in the summer.

Utrecht could have watched the situation in the event that Klich does not impress Leeds boss Paul Heckingbottom and the Whites again look to ship him out.
