German 2. Bundesliga side St Pauli insist that Leeds United linked striker Marvin Ducksch will be at the club when pre-season training starts, in the process signalling their unwillingness to sell.

St Pauli loaned Ducksch to fellow German side Holstein Kiel last summer and he made a huge splash, finishing the regular campaign with 18 goals in 33 2. Bundesliga games.

He will now try to help Holstein Kiel see off Wolfsburg over two legs to secure promotion to the Bundesliga.

Ducksch's goalscoring exploits have attracted a number of clubs, with Holstein Kiel keen to keep him, while Leeds were linked with tracking him earlier this season; the Whites want to sign a striker in the summer.

But St Pauli have indicated they are planning to keep hold of Ducksch.

Sporting director Uwe Stover was quoted as saying by German magazine Kicker: "With Marvin Ducksch, there is currently no state of affairs other than that he will start training with us from 24th June.

"We watched his games with Kiel and we talked several times over the course of the season.

"But not in the last four weeks because of decency."

Ducksch has only one year left to run on his contract with St Pauli, meaning if he refuses to sign an extension the club could be forced to seriously consider a sale.
