Bundesliga side Mainz have set their face against selling Arsenal target Abdou Diallo, who they believe will only increase in value.

The 22-year-old only joined Mainz last summer, but has impressed in his first season in the German top flight, clocking up 27 appearances in the Bundesliga, along with chipping in with two goals.

His performances have attracted interest from Arsenal, who are not slowing down their summer recruitment plans despite currently being without a manager.

But Mainz are not entertaining any thoughts of selling Diallo.

"We are not willing to let him go after just once year", Mainz sporting director Rouven Schroder told German magazine Kicker.
