Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has emerged as a prime target for Borussia Dortmund for the summer transfer window.

Morata has endured a difficult first season at Chelsea following his big money move from Real Madrid last summer and is said to be keen to leave the club in the coming months.

The Spaniard has struggled to make a decisive impact and recently spoke about the difficulties he has faced since moving to a new country and a new club last year.

Juventus are interested in taking him back to Italy in the summer and are formulating a bid that would involve him joining on an initial loan deal with a purchase option.

However, the Italian champions could face competition from unexpected suitors for Morata, as according to German daily Bild, the striker features on Dortmund’s shortlist of targets.

BVB are going ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window and recruiting a striker to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who joined Arsenal in January, is at the top of their agenda.

Michy Batshuayi, who played the second half of the season on loan at Dortmund, is said to be their top target, but Chelsea’s Morata is also believed to be on their wish list.

While Chelsea are prepared to sell him, they want to recoup a large part of the club record fee they paid to sign Morata and it could take him out of Dortmund’s price range.
