Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez and Napoli midfielder Jorginho are the priority targets for Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

Pep Guardiola has already indicated that Manchester City will not be spending as big as last summer and will only look to bring in two or three key additions to help the club compete on all fronts.

Manchester City tried to sign Mahrez in the January transfer window, but were unwilling to match the kind of money Leicester demand for the Algerian despite the player putting in a transfer request.

And it has been claimed that the winger remains on their radar and according to Spanish TV programme El Chiringuito TV, Mahrez is one of the priority targets for Manchester City in the transfer window.

Adding midfield reinforcements is also believed to be a key concern for Guardiola and Napoli’s Jorginho, who has also been on Manchester United’s radar, is their top target for the summer.

Benjamin Mendy’s injury last year exposed a key weakness in the Manchester City squad and the manager was forced to play Fabian Delph, a midfielder by trade, in that position.

Therefore Guardiola wants reinforcements in full-back areas and Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand features prominently on the club’s shortlist of targets.

Manchester City could move for other players should they lose several from their squad in the summer too, but for the moment they are looking to bring in their priority targets first.
