La Liga side Real Betis want to take Newcastle United striker Ayoze Perez back to Spain.

Betis are advanced in their planning for the summer transfer window as they look to consolidate their position in the top six in La Liga; the club currently sit in sixth place, with a five point lead over Sevilla and just one game left to play.

They are looking towards Perez as a potential signing, according to Spanish daily Estadio Deportivo, but know doing the deal could be expensive.

Perez has a contract with Newcastle which runs until the summer of 2021 and with no release clause in his deal, Betis could have to pay a substantial fee to take him back to Spain.

Newcastle snapped up the 24-year-old in 2014 from Canary Island club Tenerife.
