Liverpool are considering making a move for legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon in the ongoing transfer window, it has been claimed.

Buffon revealed on Thursday that he will be ending his 17-year association with Juventus at the end of the season but did not clarify whether he will be hanging up his goalkeeping gloves.

At 40, the goalkeeper still remains an attractive prospect for some of the big names of European football and there is speculation that some are already considering picking him up on a free transfer.

It has been claimed that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in taking him to France and even Real Madrid are said to be considering signing him in the summer.

And according to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, Liverpool could also consider the possibility of signing the World Cup winning goalkeeper in the coming months.
