Fenerbahce have dropped a big hint that they are thinking of life beyond Rangers target Martin Skrtel.

The former Liverpool defender is wanted at Ibrox by new Gers boss Steven Gerrard and Fenerbahce are currently mulling an offer of €4.5m from the Scottish club.

And in a sign Fenerbahce are thinking about life after Skrtel, they are showing interest in FC Porto defender Ivan Marcano, according to Turkish daily Tavkim.

Marcano's contract at Portuguese giants FC Porto is due to expire this summer and he is an attractive proposition for Fenerbahce.

The Spanish centre-back made 30 appearances in the Portuguese top flight for FC Porto this season, along with appearing seven times in their Champions League campaign.

Fenerbahce are also claimed to still hold an interest in Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala, another player who could be a replacement for Skrtel.

As such there are clear signs the Yellow Canaries are thinking of who can replace the Slovak.

Skrtel, who played with Gerrard at Liverpool, joined Fenerbahce in 2016.
