Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has expressed his confidence about seeing youngster Keanan Bennetts make the step up to the Bundesliga after they snapped him up from Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.

The 19-year-old, a product of the London-based side's academy, has put pen-to-paper to a contract with the German side that runs until 2022.




The winger played for the Lilywhites in the Premier League 2, notching up a total of 22 appearances and scoring seven goals.

In addition to that Bennetts also featured in seven UEFA Youth League games, finding the back of the net twice; he did not manage to make his senior bow for Spurs however.
 


Giving his reaction to the signing, sporting director Eberl said that his team have full faith in Bennetts to make the step up to the Bundesliga.

“Keanan can play a variety of attacking roles”, Eberl told his club's official website.

“He has played for Spurs in the Premier League 2 and in the UEFA Youth League this season, and we back him to make the step up to the Bundesliga.

"We’re delighted he has chosen to sign for Borussia.”

The starlet has German roots, with his mother originally from the country.
