Jamie Murphy is positive and excited about the next chapter at Rangers under Steven Gerrard after completing a permanent move to the Glasgow giants.

Rangers signed the winger from Brighton on loan in January and the club have confirmed that they have signed him on a permanent contract from the Premier League outfit.

Murphy impressed in the second half of the season at Rangers, scoring four goals and providing eight assists and the club have wasted little time in signing him on a permanent deal.

The 28-year-old expressed his delight at completing his move to Rangers and stressed that he is determined to make sure that he helps them to achieve their targets in the new future.

He told the club’s official website: “I’m delighted to make my move to Rangers permanent. This club means a lot to me and it already feels like home.

“Whilst I’m naturally disappointed we didn’t complete the objectives that we set for ourselves last season, I am more determined than ever to help this club to be a success.”

Murphy became the third signing of the summer for Rangers following the capture of Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor.

And the winger is certain that it is a signal of better things to come under new manager Gerrard in the coming years.

“With the new manager in place, two new signings confirmed already and an exciting summer to follow, I can’t wait to get started on the next chapter of my Rangers career.”
