Liverpool have lodged their interest in Ajax attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech as they hunt a replacement for Philippe Coutinho.

The Reds surprisingly opted to let Coutinho leave in the January transfer window and accepted a big money bid from Barcelona.

Jurgen Klopp is aware of the hole left in his squad by the sale of Coutinho and replacing the Brazilian is a key objective for the Reds this summer.

Ziyech is attracting interest from Roma, while Everton and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with the 25-year-old.

Liverpool have also added themselves to the mix as, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.it, the Reds took advantage of the midfielder's agent making a trip to England to register their interest.
