Peter Lovenkrands has indicated he is hoping to keep hold of his job working with Rangers' youngsters following the appointment of Steven Gerrard as manager.

Gerrard has penned a four-year contract to take over at Ibrox and will assume his role from 1st June.

He is taking Gary McAllister with him as his assistant, while Michael Beale, currently at Liverpool's academy, is joining his backroom team.

It remains to be seen whether Gerrard will shake up the coaching ranks at youth level, but Lovenkrands has indicated he wants to stay on.

Replying to a message on Twitter saying Rangers should keep him on as a youth coach, Lovenkrands said: "Thank you".
