Tottenham Hotspur starlet Cameron Carter-Vickers believes that his loan spells this season helped him improve and now with all the experience he will look to kick on at his parent club.

The academy recruit spent the entire 2017/18 season on loan, first at Sheffield United between August and December last year, and then at Ipswich Town from January to the end of the season, playing regularly for both of Championship clubs.

Managing a total of 35 competitive appearances between the two clubs, the youngster has now returned to White Hart Lane, being immediately offered a new deal that will keep him at the club until at least the summer of 2021.

Carter-Vickers insists that his stints in the Championship have helped him grow and now he will look to use his experience to perform well for the Lilywhites.

“I’ve worked hard out on loan this season, trying to get as many minutes and games as I could. I feel like I’ve improved as a player and it’s definitely benefitted me, to be out at Sheffield United and Ipswich", the youngster told his club's official website.

"I enjoyed my time at both clubs, the players there and coaching staff there have all been really helpful towards me and helped my development.

“In the Championship you play a lot of midweek games so getting used to playing every three or four days has been an eye-opener, both mentally and physically.

"It’s definitely a physical league, also very tough. Any team can beat any other team so you’ve really got to be on it every game you play, to try to get the points.

“I feel like I’ve improved a lot, though, and it gave me great experience going out on loan.

"Now I’m looking to kick on.

"The next step for me is to come back for pre-season, get my head down, work hard and try to impress the manager and as many people as I can.”

The 20-year-old, a product of Tottenham's academy, was promoted to senior level in 2016 and has since managed four appearances, including two in the FA Cup and two in the EFL Cup.
