Rangers are pushing to try to beat Leeds United to defender Kyle Bartley.

The centre-back can leave Swansea City for the right price this summer following the Welsh club's relegation from the Premier League.

Bartley spent the 2016/17 campaign on loan at Leeds and impressed, and the Whites are claimed to be his first choice when it comes to a move this summer.

But Rangers want to take Bartley to Ibrox to bolster the Steven Gerrard revolution.

And according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Rangers are waving money around as they bid to tempt Bartley north of the border.

The centre-back is expected to cost between £3m and £4m.

It remains to be seen where Bartley ends up, but Leeds continue to be the defender's first choice, meaning Rangers may still have work to do to convince him to move to Scotland.

Leeds full-back Luke Ayling revealed earlier this month that he will go on holiday twice with Bartley this summer and will try to persuade him to return to Elland Road.
