Roma are set to lose out on key summer transfer window target Talisca to Liverpool.

The 24-year-old Brazilian has spent the last two years on loan in Turkey at Besiktas, having joined the Black Eagles from Portuguese giants Benfica.

Besiktas have been keen to keep Talisca, but his performances in Turkey have seen other clubs join the race and Roma sporting director Monchi identified the attacker as one of the club's key targets ahead of the summer.

But according to Italian daily Leggo, Roma are set to lose out on the Brazilian to Liverpool.

Besiktas coach Senol Gunes was quoted as saying: "Talisca was about to leave the team already last winter.

"He will not be with us because he already has an agreement with another club.

"He will be a rival of [Cenk] Tosun, who we sold to Everton."

It has been claimed Liverpool could pay around the €35m mark to sign Talisca.

The Brazilian has also been strongly linked with Wolves, who won this season's English Championship to secure promotion to the Premier League.

Talisca arrived in European football in 2014, when Benfica snapped him up from Bahia.
