Stoke City will announce the appointment of Gary Rowett as their new manager on Tuesday morning, according to Sky Sports News HQ

The Potters parted ways with Paul Lambert following relegation from the Premier League and are looking for Rowett to secure an instant return to the top flight.

Stoke are to pay the £1.8m compensation figure in Rowett's contract at Derby County and have agreed terms with the manager.

Rowett is now expected to imminently sign his contract with the Potters and the club are expected to announce his appointment on Tuesday morning.

The former Birmingham City manager will then look to get started with planning to prepare Stoke for a tough campaign in the grind of the Championship.
