Liverpool legend John Aldridge has questioned Emre Can’s decision to potentially move to Juventus at the end of the current campaign.

Can is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the season and is expected to officially complete a free transfer to Juventus following the Champions League final on Saturday.

The Italian champions have been on the German’s tail for over a year and it has been clear for a while that the midfielder will not be signing a new contract as Liverpool were not keen to include a release clause in the new deal.

However, Aldridge is not sure why Can wants to leave Liverpool as he believes the Premier League is a better and a more quality league than Serie A.

And he insisted that despite Juventus’ pedigree as a big club, they have not won more than Liverpool when it comes to Europe.

Speaking about Can, the former Red wrote in his column for the Liverpool Echo: “Why does he want to leave? Money.

“Is the Italian league better? No.

"Juventus are a huge club but Liverpool have won the Champions League more times than them.

“I would question the advice he’s been getting but if he wants to go this summer, then go.”

Can has been declared fit for the Champions League final but it remains to be seen whether he makes the squad in Kyiv.
