Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has warned suitors of Liverpool target Nabil Fekir that they will have to pay huge money to snare the Frenchman away from the club.

Fekir’s future at Lyon has been under the scanner in the ongoing transfer window amidst suggestions that he is one of Liverpool’s top transfer targets for the summer.

The player and the club recently denied reports that his move to Liverpool is all but done, but the Merseyside giants are reportedly prepared to open talks with Lyon after the Champions League final.

Aulas has denied any suggestion of contact from Liverpool for Fekir and insisted that following Lyon’s Champions League qualification the player wants to continue at the club.

He indicated that he will soon sit down for talks with the attacking midfielder to discuss his future, but insisted that any club who want to sign him will have to fork out huge money this summer.

“There has been not contact with Liverpool or any other club”, the Lyon president told SFR Sport.

“I have not discussed his future at all.

“I know that Nabil, because of Lyon’s Champions League qualification, really wants to stay.

“We will discuss it with calm.”

He continued: “He has earned his right to go to the World Cup with France, which gives him a higher status.

“There is nothing done and it will be very, very expensive to be able to acquire Nabil Fekir this summer.”

Fekir, who scored 23 goals this season for Lyon, has a contract until 2020 with the club.
