Manchester United have reached an agreement over a fee with Shakhtar Donetsk for Brazilian midfielder Fred, while Jose Mourinho is also showing an interest in Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic.

The 25-year-old midfielder was on Manchester City’s radar in the January window, but Pep Guardiola decided to sign a defender in the shape of Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao.

Manchester City have prioritised signing Napoli’s Jorginho this summer, which has allowed Manchester United a clear run at signing Fred from Shakhtar and it seems a transfer is imminent.
