Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has been willing to speak to AC Milan over a proposed summer switch but impending UEFA sanctions have stopped the Rossoneri from making further probes for the Spaniard.

Morata joined Chelsea from Real Madrid on a club record fee last summer but his first season in England has not worked out the way he would have wanted it to.

The Spaniard has struggled to settle down to life in the Premier League and he was regularly snubbed from the starting eleven for the big games, including the FA Cup final last weekend.

Morata is keen on a return to Italy this summer and even met Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici earlier this week to discuss a move back to the Bianconeri.

AC Milan have also been interested in signing the former Real Madrid striker and according to Calciomercato.com, Morata is prepared to talk with the Serie A giants over a transfer.

However, AC Milan are facing heavy sanctions from UEFA for breaking Financial Fair Play regulations and the Rossoneri have put the brakes on their interest in the Chelsea striker.

With Chelsea expected to demand big money for Morata, AC Milan are unlikely to be able to spend huge figures this summer, which would have given them a chance to sign the Spaniard.

Juventus are preparing an initial loan offer with an obligatory purchase clause to tempt Chelsea into selling their former striker.
