Napoli have touched base with the representatives of Manchester United target Joan Cancelo as they look to identify a replacement for Arsenal target Elseid Hysaj.

Inter backed out of an agreement to sign Cancelo from Valencia after the Portuguese full-back spent the season on loan at the San Siro.




The defender remains an in-demand player because of his performances for Inter and Manchester United and Juventus are reportedly scraping to secure his signature this summer.

And there could be more Italian interest in the Portuguese as according to Italian radio station Radio Crc, Napoli have touched base with the representatives of the Valencia full-back over a proposed move.
 


The Serie A giants are aware of the level of interest their right-back Hysaj has been attracting, with Arsenal believed to be keen on taking him to England this summer.

Napoli are keen to hold on to him, but they are putting in place contingency plans should Hysaj decide to leave the San Paolo in the ongoing transfer window.

And it has been claimed that Cancelo has popped up on their radar as a possible replacement and it has led to the club contacting the entourage of the Portuguese.

Valencia want the €35m they agreed with Inter when they sent him on loan to Italy last summer.
