Mauricio Pochettino has obtained assurances from Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy that he will be allowed to leave if Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain come calling in the future.

Pochettino allayed concerns over his future by signing a new five-year contract with the club ahead of Tottenham’s first season in their new stadium.

The Tottenham boss has agreed to continue developing the Spurs team, who have finished three seasons in a row in the top four, and has been promised funds to improve the squad this summer.

The Argentine’s work at Tottenham has been admired by many and he even received an offer from Chelsea recently to replace Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge this summer.

Pochettino decided to remain loyal to Tottenham for the time being, but it has been claimed that he agreed to sign new deal with the club on one very specific condition.
