Manchester City have probed the possibility of signing Juventus winger Douglas Costa this summer and are prepared to offer big money for him.

The Brazilian joined Juventus on an initial loan deal from Bayern Munich last summer and the Italian champions have taken up the €40m option of signing him on a permanent deal.

Costa was an integral figure in Juventus winning another league title at the end of the season and remains a key part of their plans moving forward.

However, Juventus’ resolve to keep Costa at the club is being tested by Manchester City, as according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, they have probed the possibility of signing him.

Manchester City have prepared a lucrative contract for the Brazilian, which would see his wages jump considerably from the amount he is earning at Juventus.

And the Premier League champions have also made an unofficial offer of around €80m, double the figure that Juventus paid to Bayern Munich for his permanent transfer.

For the moment, Juventus have no interest in selling the player and Costa also wants to continue with the Italian champions as he seeks to add stability to his career.

However, Manchester City are probing to see whether they can change either the club or the player’s mind about their current situation in Italy.
